About usFounder and principal Lori Higa is an ADDY award-winning communications pro, with 20+ years of experience in a broad spectrum of markets from consumer goods and technology to health care, fast food and fashion. She has strategized, produced and launched comprehensive PR, marketing, advertising and communications programs for every size and type of organization including grassroots nonprofits, government agencies and global Fortune 50 companies. Lori has executed both traditional and social marketing campaigns, and created a diverse array of award-winning products such as TV and radio commercials, sales videos, DVDs, ads and strategic press relations programs. In addition, Lori is a journalist and editor. She's written on a wide variety of topics including arts and entertainment, film, Asian American history, travel, restaurants and food. Her work has been published in the LA Times, LA Herald Examiner, LA Weekly, Los Angeles magazine, Silicon Valley Metro, SF Bay Guardian, Ojai Valley News and US among other local, regional and national media. Lori has provided strategic communications services to some of the world's leading companies as well as privately-held startups. She has worked in corporate and agency environments and as an independent consultant. For 15 years in Silicon Valley, Lori developed special expertise in Pacific Rim-based semiconductor manufacturers, telecommunications, wireless and networking firms, in addition to hardware and software. She has counseled venture-capitalized companies in stealth mode, pre-IPO and IPO stages. Born in Hawai'i, Lori is descended from a family of immigrant plantation workers, originally from Okinawa and Japan. She holds an MBA degree in technology management from the University of Phoenix's online campus and a BA in writing and literature from the University of California at Santa Cruz. Lori has devoted more than 20 years of her life to social and environmental justice activism, with particular expertise in the A&PI, LGBTQQI, women and people of color communities, HIV/AIDS and wildlife protection, environmental conservation and habitat restoration.
